The Christian Service Center provides assistance with food, clothing, household goods, furniture, some financial assistance and prayer. Our help is limited to what is donated to the center and our budget limitations. We receive no government funding. Christian Service Center clients MUST live in Columbia County, Florida.

FOOD

Thanks to the donations of food items from individuals, churches and businesses we are able to stock our food pantry so we can give food to those who qualify. We provide over a weeks supply of food for the entire family listed in the household.

CLOTHING

Our Clothes Closet allows us to provide for the clothing needs of our clients through donated clothing items that are gently worn. Clients are able to get multiple clothing items including shoes and accessories.

HOUSEHOLD GOODS

Clients can receive all kinds of household items from our donated inventory. Linens, towels, rugs, small kitchen appliances and utensils, dishes and other small household items are always needed.

FURNITURE

Based on donations, we provide all types of furniture to clients who are without or are starting a new residence. Beds, tables, chairs, couches, desks, end tables, lamps, vacuum cleaners, and other furniture items are collected and distributed.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

The Center has limited funds to help clients who qualify with power bills, water bills, kerosene, propane, gas, medicines and bus tickets to the next largest town. We screen our clients carefully to assure we are using our funds wisely.

PRAYER

At the end of every interview we ask our clients if we can pray with them. Our goal is to share Christ with all people through our actions and our love. We provide the opportunity for guidance and to pray with our clients.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Annual Fund Drive

Held each October thru December, it is our primary financial fundraiser for the center. All donations are tax deductible.

Happy Feet School Shoes

Each July we collect new tennis shoes and socks for children in kindergarten thru 12th grade. We give these items to our client children so they have a new pair of shoes to start school with. Individuals can collect a foot cut out with the child’s information on it and purchase the shoes for them or donate to the program. Shoes are given out the week before school starts.

Christmas Toy Drive

Riders With Caring Hearts has been an integral part of this event since 2012. They spearhead the fundraising effort with a toy run in November each year. Working with Riders With Caring Hearts, local clubs and businesses, the center collects new toys and donations to be given to our client families for Christmas. The toy drive is held in November and the giveaway is held in mid December.

Christmas Food Baskets

Each year we give out over 300 Christmas Food Baskets to clients for their Christmas meal. The center collects and purchases food for the baskets and it is distributed the week before Christmas.

Warehouse Sales

A few times a year, the Christian Service Center will hold a warehouse sale for the community. It is a good way for the community to purchase usable items at rock bottom prices. All donations not given to clients through our normal means are sorted and stored for these sales. The money made at this event goes back into the center to support our financial needs.
